I was feeling out of sorts, fitness wise, during the last few months of 2015. At that time, I was not eating right, exercising or doing my Wednesday weigh-ins. No bueno. During the first week of January 2016, I looked in the mirror and decided that I would not allow myself to continue to look how I looked and feel how I felt. After working all day and commuting 40 miles each way, I had no energy to exercise. I am NOT a morning person. I decided to suck it up. I also decided to do 30 minutes of SOMETHING every day until exercise becomes a habit again.
Thursday, January 7, I dusted off my scale, literally, and placed it in a new location. I weighed myself and was pleasantly surprised that I hadn’t gained as much as I thought that I had. On Friday, I forced myself to exercise after work (and after driving my 80-mile round trip commute). I have been exercising every day since Friday. I have been more mindful of the quantity and size of my food portions. I weighed myself on Wednesday, January 13 and I lost 3.5lbs in my first week back on track! Good stuff.
My home workout corner is a work in progress. I used some of my craftiness to add some motivational quotes to the area. I am a visual person, so I need those quotes to help me stay on track. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you saw some of my pics. Pinterest has given my some ideas on creating a good workout area when you’re short on space. I’ll reveal the final look when the workout corner is complete.
I say all that to say, no matter how many times you have to restart your journey of good health and fitness, KEEP GOING! I plan to keep going, no matter the set backs that may appear. Be kind to yourself during this journey. Good health and fitness is a lifetime commitment. We’ll have good days. We’ll have not-so-good days. Keep going. Small changes can make a huge difference. Keep going.
