A Wonderful Word for Wednesday ~ God Is My Shield

Header - Post - Go Get It In 2013On Wednesdays, the My Faith and Fitness Blog will feature a passage of scripture and questions to encourage us to reflect on how we can each live a life that pleases God and allows us to fulfill the plans that God has prepared for us.

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.  Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.  But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.  I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.  I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.  I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.  Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.  Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. ~ Psalm 3:1-8 (KJV)

How do you respond to people who tell you that God cannot help you overcome your situations?

What methods do you use to ensure that you recognize and appreciate God shielding you?

How difficult is it for you to get peaceful sleep when you are going through trials?

I loved reading this post! Madam, your blog is an inspiration. Just last Sunday (the 8th), the new director of discipleship at our church, Genesis UMC of Michigan, spoke on Jeremiah. I felt as though his words had a profound effect on my life right now. I am working towards becoming a certified Zumba instructor and my church is willing to allow me to offer a class there. They are very excited about developing a fitness ministry so my timing couldn’t be better. But I have been so nervous about walking this road, at least until I heard the passages from Jeremiah. I realized that I’m being called to do this for reasons yet unknown to me. And if that’s true, then God is with me and I cannot fail. I just need to listen carefully and feel for the Hand that is on my shoulder.

Thank you for your comment, Miranda. Congrats on receiving support from your church for helping to develop a fitness ministry. Continue to be obedient to the assignments that God has given you and God will open opportunities for you and your ministry. Be blessed. Thank you for reading.
